Rose Rodriguez at Patio 315
There are certain people who just light up the room when they walk in. Rose Rodriguez is one of those people, on and off the stage. Patio 315 was packed with fans and friends from the moment the show started to the very end. Nashville Offbeat had the good fortune to attend Rose's single release party for her video release of "Closer" on Friday, July 28th.
"Closer" is an up-beat song about how when you're in a relationship, you're winning even when you're fighting, because fighting means that you care. If you didn't care, you wouldn't be trying to work it out. Rose portrayed this concept in her video, beautifully shot by Jon Gartner, by narrating a story between two quarrelsome lovers. By the end of the video, the couple made up and the song landed on a high note, making the viewer feel fulfilled and happy.
After the video premiere, Rose and her band began their set with a fun and fiery rendition of "Respect" that had the audience grooving and smiling with her. Aside from her glowing personality offstage, it was truly enjoyable to see that Rose had no problem putting herself out there in her performance. Her stage presence and banter with the audience was the perfect compliment to her band, which kept it tight, yet playful. The live music came to an end with one of Rose's originals, "Misery" followed by a cover titled "Black Coffee," to cap off the night in a fun, light-hearted way.
Rose Rodriguez is taking off on her new solo endeavor, and Nashville Offbeat is eager to see where this artist goes after being so warmly welcomed at her release show. She will be playing more in the near future, and we recommend that you go follow her on Facebook to see her in person! In the words of her new song "Closer," "let go and live!" Don't miss out on being a part of her story.
