Elisabeth Beckwitt's Video "Gray Again" Will Make You Feel Everything
There’s something to be said about watching a music video that makes you recall dark past feelings, while also feeling extremely peaceful in the knowledge that you’re not alone. Elisabeth Beckwitt moved to Nashville about three years ago and has since been shaking a town full of musicians, artists, and dreamers with her bold and emotional honesty. Her music, with its delicate pulse of light and dark, has an intuitive tide of its own that reaches out to to pull you in at just the right moment.
In November of 2017, Elisabeth released a video titled “Gray Again.” The video begins with a narrative of her time spent in McLean Psychiatric Hospital and the parade of medications she was given with their many adverse side-effects. Through poetic lines with perfectly dramatized expression, she relays to the audience that she no longer feels in danger, and begins to feel what we all describe as “normal.” It comes with a price, as she realizes that the “right” medication is causing her to feel nothing at all.
Nashville Offbeat dares you not to be drawn in and moved by this harrowing, yet beautiful piece of art. It dares you not to fall in love with this gorgeous songstress who knows how to merge and unite hearts through her music.
Elisabeth Beckwitt just released a brand new EP this month under the title "Gray Again!" Her release show is set for January 24th, but if you miss her then, you can catch her on January 31st at the Nashville Offbeat showcase taking place at The Five Spot. Her music is available on Spotify and iTunes. Find out more by following her on Instagram, Facebook, and by going to www.elisabethbeckwitt.com .
