30 Second Impressions: Sophia Brand, Mark Henes, Lost Stars

I heard in college that songwriters should get to the chorus of a song within 30-seconds of hitting play in order to keep the interest of the listener.  I think it says something about us, as music consumers, that our attention span is so short.  BUT, I do find some intrigue in this idea of first impressions and music.  According to SCIENCE... it takes about a tenth of a second to form a first impression of a stranger.  But what about music?  We listened to the first 30 seconds of each of the following three songs, and wrote our thoughts below.
