Song Review: Dreaming Big in Future Hero's Song "Sidewalk"
This one's for you. The artists, musicians, weirdos, and introverts. “Sidewalk” by Future Hero is a song for the best of millenials. I know what you’re thinking, and no: not the ones who believe that they deserve success for breathing or think that avocado toast is life itself. This one’s for the millenials who understand that in order to grow, they have to experience the good and the bad. “Sidewalk” is about that feeling we get when we’ve done a good job, given ourselves a pat on the back, and are already thinking about the future.
Take a moment to relax. “Sidewalk” may stir feelings of nostalgia as you listen to lyrics that bring you back to being an awkward teen (or young twenty-something). The opening electric guitar may be playing a simple rhythm, but the lyrics that follow describe a feeling that is often hard for people to express.
The lead singer comes in. His voice is clear as he takes you into his thoughts and down memory lane with him. Drums enter- perfectly timed, with a groove leading into the second verse, giving you a reason to tap along with your feet. I love how stripped down this song is. In a world full of over-production and being as loud as you can, “Sidewalk” is an easy-breezy breath of fresh air. Take a listen below.
